Chlorophyll Content

Optical spectroscopy examination of the rose and grass leaves revealed that treatment with the 4 Seasons Organics Liquid Fertiliser is increasing the chlorophyll content. Since chlorophyll is primarily responsible for the photosynthesis (transformation of solar energy into the chemical form), the plants with higher chlorophyll content are healthier.

Ethylene Content

The studies of the ethylene content in the leaves were performed using the rotational-vibrational spectroscopy of leaf surface. The typical spectra obtained are shown below.

The highest concentration of Ethylene was observed for the batch without the 4 Seasons treatment. Plants treated with the 4 Seasons product showed the lowest ethylene content. Ethylene is known for its ability to shorten the blossoming cycle ergo the shelf life of the flowers. The application of the4 Seasons Organics Liquid Fertiliser is increasing the "shelf life" of the flowers (approximately 25 %). These laboratory results were supported by visual observations of the treated roses.
