Summary of
Report on Horticultural Testing of
4 Seasons Organics Liquid Fertiliser |
Prepared by: Dr N.N. Kinaev
Issued: January 2003

Root Development
Applications of the 4 Seasons Organics
Liquid Fertiliser significantly changed
the root growth and structure. Growth
and development were approximately 10-15
% faster for a control batch through
the whole trial period. The roots in
the 4 Seasons treated plants were more
developed with a significantly more
branched structure. The strength of
the roots of 4 Seasons treated plants
was considerably higher than those of
plants grown on inorganic fertilisers
only.
This applied equally to the rose and
grass trials. Another important characteristic
is the root efficiency of moisture and
nutrient extraction from the soil. It
is determined largely by root surface
area. In particular roots of the plants
without the 4 Seasons Organics treatment
were significantly less 'hairier' than
the roots subjected to treatment with
the 4 Seasons Organics product. Therefore
the 4 Seasons Organics product increases
the surface area and hence the effectiveness
of the roots.

Micrograph of the roots of the rose
without 4 Seasons treatment. White mark
indicates 50 mm.

Micrograph of the roots of the rose
with 4 Seasons treatment. White mark
indicates 50 mm.
Microscopic examination of the grass
roots demonstrated the same effect of
the 4 Seasons Organics treatment as
for rose trials.
